Paying For Your PA

Paying for your Personal Assistant can be done in different ways dependent on your requirements and circumstances.

It can also vary according to your location in the UK.

Take a look at the information here to determine the most appropriate for you.

How do I pay for my PA?

You can pay for a PA in a number of ways:

  • Through your direct payment (Local Authority (LA) funding paid to you, based on an assessment of your care needs).
  • From a Personal Health Budget (PHB) funded by your Health Authority for specific health needs (available in England only).
  • Via Access to work funding if you are employed and need help from a PA to do your job.
  • You can also pay your PA using your Health Grant or other funds. This is known as self-funded support.
